Our children at Emmaus College were eagerly awaiting their Grade 12 graduation in 2026, a milestone that marks the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Unfortunately, the recent change in the graduation schedule has led to feelings of disappointment, anxiety, and stress among the students. They are voicing concerns that they will not be able to fully participate in, enjoy, or even relax during the graduation festivities due to the pressure of simultaneously preparing for their upcoming exams.

The original schedule allowed for a clear separation between the joyous celebrations and rigorous preparation for final exams, providing students with both a sense of accomplishment and a time to celebrate without the looming stress of academics. The anticipated schedule change has interrupted this balance, leading to unnecessary stress during what should be a celebratory time.

By restoring the original 2026 Grade 12 graduation schedule, we have the opportunity to provide our students with the experience they were looking forward to—one filled with happiness, relaxation, and a moment of true celebration with peers and family. Implementing this change is straightforward, simple and can swiftly provide relief to our concerned students.

In listening to the voices of the students and their families, we respectfully urge the leadership of Emmaus College to reevaluate and proceed with reverting to the previous schedule. This adjustment will reignite the excitement and joy surrounding their graduation, ensuring that they can cherish their achievements and navigate their exams without added stress.
