UPDATE:

After the Court dropped the felony Grand Theft charges against the protester who had moved a loose fence panel from Marriott's illegally 2020 installed fence (blocking off access to the public property "Dinghy Beach") during a beach/mangroves cleanup, an official complaint against Marriott Managers George Galvan, David Talpasz and Lane Wilder, along with business associate Island Fence owner Danny Galvan, was filed with the State Attorney Dennis Ward in Key West for multiple counts of misdemeanor and felony perjury during criminal investigations and official proceedings.

Evidence handed over by Mary and Robert Spottswood during the almost two-year long now-dropped felony case against the protestor, revealed both then General Manager George Galvan and Maintenance Manager Lane Wilder to be the recipients of Island Fence's Invoice in Feb. 2020 showing the fence panel's value to be far less than the felony amount they claimed during the Aug. 2021 incident. Additionally, evidence from KWPD Officer Thomas Stutz, Officer Janeth Del Cid and Officer Roy's body cams showed George Galvan, David Talpasz and Lane Wilder on multiple occasions to have committed misdemeanor perjury to multiple KWPD officers during multiple criminal investigations and Feb. 2022 deposition recordings show all three Marriott Managers commiting felony perjury during their depositions in the felony theft case against the protestor.

We await answer from the SAO/Dennis Ward.

City and State Officials involved were updated in this matter, including Mayor Johnston, City Commissioners, and both new City Manager Children's and new City Atty. Ramsingh, whose predecessors (Patty McLaughlin and Sean Smith) deceived the Commission and the People in their findings and reasoning why Robert Spottswood/SH5 should be given a lease on the public property. (Official complaints against McLaughlin and Smith in their participation in the lease matter are also moving forward).

The City/SH5 lease states that should there be public demand for the beach to be used as a public waterfront property again, the lease can be cancelled. This petition is still open and 1100+ signed petitioners continue to request the City to #RestoreDinghyBeach !!!
