Hello DinghyBeachers!

As stated in the last update, Commissioners Hoover, Davila, Lopez, Wardlow and Weekly blew off 1100 petitioners (you/us) last week and continued on their path to defraud the public of Dinghy Beach by allowing Bubba-buddy Robert Spottswoof an easement.

Dinghy Beach sits at one of the entrances of N. Roosevelt Blvd., and the Marriott Beachside's illegal, unsightly fence blocks off access to the public beach, the shade trees and Gulf water that people & pets have used -unobstructed- for 40+ years.

If Commissioner Hoover's hypocrisy wasn't apparent before, she's making it crystal clear now:

Commissioner Hoover and the City, in an attempt to "revitalize" N. Roosevelt Blvd, want to hear your opinion and graciously allow you to speak out about what needs to be done in the corridor, like if you want more plants on it, etc.... Yes, they're saying they really care about what the public wants...

Ok, let's tell them what we think about Hoover's hypocrisy:

Questions #4 and #10 are where you can answer short with: #RestoreDinghyBeach #ImpeachCommissionerHoover  or

Call Hoover out on this with a few more choice words like:

Hypocrite Hoover should reverse her decision to defraud the public of N. Roosevelt's/entire area's only public recreational waterfront property - a public beach area with shade trees and Gulf access - and "revitalize" the corridor by tearing down that illegal, unsightly fence & restoring Dinghy Beach!

#ImpeachCommissionerHoover

#RestoreDinghyBeach

For question #9:

N. Roosevelt Blvd. is a state-run highway and Dinghy Beach is public property. Your tax $$$ are being spent here - you have a say!

In other news:

**** Nov. 5, 2022 - Albert Mello, Veteran (USAF/honorable) and long-time N. Cow Key anchorage resident, passed away yesterday on-scene after being struck by a reckless driver while he was crossing a pedestrian/bicycle crosswalk on N. Roosevelt Blvd.

Albert, never one to want to get openly involved in testy issues such as this one, didn't sign this petition for fear of reprisals by his neighbor Robert Spottswoof and FWC, but took the photo of Marriott's "No (tresp)assing" sign on Dinghy Beach from his dinghy last year and updated us on any of Marriott's Dinghy Beach shenanigan's in order to support the RestoreDinghyBeach petition in his own way.

The N. Cow Key Boaters Association members are greatly saddened by the tragic death of their dear neighbor, an experienced and skilled live-aboard boater who cared about the safety of the anchorage. Albert, with his deep "George Hamilton tan" and AirForce-boy swagger and sass-mouth, was never at a loss of a juicy dinghy-dock drama story to tell with a smart-ass remark as the punchline, was dedicated to his job at Lagerheads,  and always had a friendly "Hey Honey!" for the lovely ladies while riding around Key West on his monkey-bars "conch-cruiser" bicycle. "WB", the salty-dog, self-proclaimed "Mayor" of N. Cow Key Anchorage, will be missed.****
