Petition updateCity Give Back Public Beach You Deceitfully Gave Greedy Developer Robert Spottswood!Final Update - Oct. 6th Commission Meeting

On Oct. 6th, the City Commission will review Agenda Item #15 in re: Dinghy Beach.

You can speak up in person, via zoom or comment online at the City's website for agenda/meetings - comments.

Despite the Commission's last statement that they would go about getting a legal decision that Dinghy Beach is, in fact, public property, they intend to instead just give the property to Robert Spottswood without so much of a thought or consideration to Florida state law, established case law with supporting affidavits and your request - this petition. Sadly, the City, when it comes to certain individuals, is just plain corrupt. From City Attorney Smith, well-known to put Spottswood's needs over those of the City and the Commission itself which doesn't fight for it's employer (the City/people), to City Manager McLaughlin and her office hiring a business associate to Spottswood to do a survey which then gave Spottswood the entire beach to attempting to undermine any effort made to get the beach back, their support for Spottswood doing whatever illegal activity he chooses trumps doing the right thing, doing their jobs, and getting a stolen public beach back.

I'm closing the petition prior to the meeting and will submit it to Mayor Johnston and the Commissioners at that time. I appreciate all of you taking the time to sign and speak out in this matter to date.

I hope you will join me Oct. 6th in speaking out one last time in an attempt to RestoreDinghyBeach and let the City of Key West know that we see their deeds and it is not ok to steal public lands from the people and give them to entitled, greedy individuals who want our precious, valuable waterfront property all for themselves.
