Asst. City Manager T. Stoughton responded today to a request for update on the Dinghy Beach Survey:

"The City of Key West completed a purchase order to hire Reece & Associates on May 13th. At the time of our requesting for their services they estimated 3 weeks. I just spoke with them and they had it scheduled to be completed tomorrow but will have to push it until the weather clears next week."

Additionally, I wanted to let you know that I contacted Bill Marriott (Marriott International), speaking with his Exec. Asst. Peggy awhile ago, and asked Bill to right this wrong. Mr. Marriott refused to do anything to stop Spottswood and directed me to his legal staff instead - despite all the evidence showing him the property in question does not belong to Spottswood/Marriott and asking him to be a decent human being and do the right thing and not allow his company to engage in the quasi-theft of a public beach.

I ask you to please consider letting Marriott International know that Bill's support of Robert Spottswood's actions is unacceptable and boycott his businesses or let Bill Marriott @ Fax # (301) 530-3745 know that he needs to speak up and call on Spottswood to #RestoreDinghyBeach?

Thanks to each of you for signing on, forwarding to share with others and your generous donations to getting this petition towards the soon to be goal of 850 signatures - one person standing up for every day that fence has stood there - Thank you for speaking up with me, for standing with me (in spirit) on those days I have protested on N. Roosevelt Blvd. or in front of City Hall (see photo) and for telling the City of Key West that neither this wrongful annexation of public lands by the entitled, greedy Robert Spottswood, nor the inaction of government in this matter will be tolerated.
