  My fellow citizens and I treasure the Baldwin City Lake, a gem not only for our community, but for visitors from other towns as well. It holds immense personal significance to us and offers a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle. It's enjoyed by families for outings, nature lovers for its serene beauty, picnics under its shaded canopy’s, and outdoor enthusiasts for recreational activities including fishing and disc golf course. It’s under threat, facing possible sale and further deterioration.

We, therefore, petition the city council to reverse any plans to sell the lake and allocate necessary public funds to restore its condition. By doing this, the council would be contributing to the city wide movement to save our public land and water. Furthermore, it would be preserving a place that holds countless memories for local residents and continues to attract visitors to enjoy its natural beauty.
