The Issue

In the heart of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), our youngest learners, specifically those in 2nd grade and below, thrive in classrooms enriched with technology. As a parent who's witnessed the power of technology in education, I've seen how digital tools allow our children to explore, create, and learn at their own pace. This intimate interaction with technology turns classrooms into engaging, dynamic environments where students can flourish and express their creativity.

Despite concerns, there is mounting evidence that shows technology, when used correctly, does not harm young learners. In fact, children today are true digital natives—they are resilient, adaptable, and an integral part of a tech-driven world. With this understanding, it's imperative we continue to support advancements in our classroom environments, providing our students with tools that truly prepare them for the future.

One-on-one technology is not just a luxury—it's a necessity. Our children benefit greatly from individualized learning experiences that cater to their personal needs, learning speeds, and interests. Moreover, by fostering student-led initiatives like educational YouTube channels, we encourage leadership, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills from a young age.

It's critical we invest in our children's education by reinstating one-on-one technology in every 2nd grade and below classroom across LAUSD. This investment reaffirms our commitment to forward-thinking education, equipping our students not just to succeed, but to excel in an evolving digital landscape.

Join us in making this change by signing our petition today. Let's ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and grow with the tools they need to thrive in tomorrow's world.
