Did you know that many RESTAURANT COMPANIES are taking service charge/tronc from its employees? Did you know many of them are doing it DIRECTLY after the pandemic to boost this years income, cover restaurant costs, breakages and recoup lost earnings over the furlough period? 

THIS is directly impacting restaurant staff. The government didn’t include service charge/tronc in the furlough payments and millions of restaurant workers had their wages slashed..... some up to 60-70% of their income relied solely on service charge/tronc. 

MANY restaurants have reopened and many restaurant companies are using this government failing to NOW TAKE MONEY DIRECTLY OUT OF THEIR EMPLOYEES POCKETS. Many of these restaurant owners are very rich business men or corporate business owners. 

IN a time where things couldn’t be tougher for everyone..... incredibly rich restaurant owners are using the impacts of the pandemic and directly targeting their OWN STAFF to foot the bill in the long term. 

IN 2018 their was due to be a law passed making this practice illegal but unfortunately with Brexit and COVID it has been lost in the pecking order.
