We tried but could not convince the government!

On behalf of the Taxation Committee of the Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society, I would like to thank you for your support in seeking to get the Income Computation & Disclosure Standards scrapped. We all tried hard but unfortunately, the government has decided to go ahead with the ICDS. It is said that there is strength in numbers. Perhaps, next time, we will need to work harder and garner far more support in order to make our voices heard. For the time being, this petition is now being closed formally. We at the BCAS will continue to make efforts at improving the tax laws in the country and will continue to make representations to the Finance Ministry as and when something needs to be brought to their attention.
