Thank you for your overwhelming support!

Today, we reached the 5,000 mark in our petition. To reach this figure is not easy. But your support has made it possible. On behalf of the Taxation Committee of the Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society, I thank you for sparing your time and signing the petition and also for garnering support from your friends, colleagues, associates and others. Just as an ocean is made up of drops of water and a mountain is made up of small specks of stones, so also, a movement like ours that aims at bringing changes in the laws. Its a tough task and a slow and tiring one but we shall always strive to bring about a change for the better in our tax laws. With this, we have formally closed the petition and have sent it to the Finance Minister. We hope that we will see a favorable result soon. As and when we get a response, we shall keep you posted. In the meantime, we wish you a wonderful 2017. We hope that tax laws will become less cumbersome in the year ahead and that administration of taxes will become more humane and fair.
