In my family, I've seen the struggles and uncertainties faced by our senior and super senior citizens. Many of them, despite years of dedicated service and contribution to the country, find themselves in a situation where they are unable to enjoy the fruits of their labor during their golden years. The pension they receive is often insufficient to cover their basic needs such as healthcare, utilities, and everyday expenses. It’s heartbreaking to see those who built the foundation of our society, now having to live their lives in financial distress.

In our region, the issue of pension enhancement for eligible senior and super senior citizens has been a pressing concern. Numerous individuals are eligible for this crucial support, yet delays in processing and administrative inefficiencies have left them waiting. However, many states struggle with disbursing enhanced pensions promptly, with reports suggesting that some seniors wait months or even years due to bureaucratic hold-ups.

We are calling on the government and relevant authorities to address these issues with urgency. We propose a streamlined process for verifying and approving eligible pension enhancements, including deploying additional resources to handle backlog cases. Employing technology to automate and monitor the process can also ensure that seniors receive their rightful entitlements promptly.
