Residents We Deserve Better: End the Exploitation of Valley Brook Residents

The Issue

We are residents of Valley Brook Mobile Home Park in Indianapolis, and we’re tired of being mistreated by YES Communities.

Many of us are working hard just to stay afloat — yet we face skyrocketing rent (some paying over $1,400 for a 2 or 3-bedroom), ridiculous fees like $50 grass-cutting charges with no warning, and sudden towing of our vehicles without proper notice. Getting a car out of impound costs over $170 — that’s food and bills for many families.

We’ve also experienced long delays when requesting maintenance, even for simple fixes. It feels like YES Communities is more focused on squeezing every dollar out of us than treating us like real people.

On top of that, parking has become a major issue. Many homes have small driveways that barely fit two vehicles, yet we’re being towed for parking where we have no choice but to park. We are demanding more parking spaces and bigger driveways to reflect the reality of families who live here.

We are also calling for lower rent. The prices for these homes have gotten out of hand. Many residents are being charged outrageous amounts for basic 2- or 3-bedroom homes — with little to no improvements or upgrades to justify the cost.

We’re starting this petition to demand:

-Clear towing policies and proper warning—before any vehicle is towed
-Lower, fair rent for all residents                       -An end to surprise fees and sudden charges
-Faster, more reliable maintenance
-More parking and expanded driveways
-Respect, fairness, and accountability from YES Communities

This is not just about one issue — it’s about basic human dignity. Valley Brook should be a community we’re proud to live in, not one we feel trapped in.

If you agree that enough is enough — sign this petition and stand with us. Together, we can demand better.
