The Pineview circuit trail is a community treasure but it can also be unfriendly to use.  Deep snow, weeds, muddy conditions, and uneven surfaces can make it difficult to navigate and sometimes impossible to use.

The Pineview Valley Community Group has the opportunity to propose to the city of Kamloops that the main trail be paved, leaving the trails around Python Lake left in their natural state.  This upgrade would allow all the citizens of Pineview access to this amazing neighbourhood feature.

With a proposed elementary school, the seniors residence, and many outdoor enthusiasts a paved walkway would be the jewel of Pineview. Presently the walkway is totally usable for the general population but many residents cannot use the trails. Wheelchairs, walkers, canes and strollers are difficult to maneuver during the best of times and cannot even be considered in the snow and melt seasons.  Paving the trail would enable year round use as it is likely that the paved trail would be ploughed during the winter months.  Paving would also eliminate the muddy season (March and April) when the trail can become impassable.  As summer progresses the weeds and grasses can narrow the trails and make them uncomfortable to navigate. Winters deep snow and icy conditions can be hazardous.

Paving would keep the Pineview circuit trail usable in all seasons.  Please join us in our effort to make this special community feature accessible to all.
