The Issue

Demand that Kern County Pave Frazier Park Trails

The roads in our Community are becoming progressively worse to drive on and are a danger to our cars and community during bad weather. Frazier Parks roads receive almost no upkeep. Many of the roads look like mountain trails with huge cracks and sharp rocks sticking out, with little to no access during snow season.

Though we aren't generating as much capital as our neighboring mountain communities, we deserve the same amenities. Do you feel pushed to the side and told to wait? We have waited long enough.

We, as a neighborhood, demand action from Kern County to find money in the budget to address the dirt roads in the Frazier Park community—primarily the Trails in the business district of Frazier Park (between San Joaquin Trail and Monterey Trail). If not the Whole town!!

We could have a beautiful mountain town, with a historic district in kern county, but honestly it looks like a dump.

For instance;  Lake of the Woods, Piñon Pines and Pine Mountain club all have paved roads. Why not Frazier Park? This negligence has to end!

Who’s going to pay for it?

Starting a CSD “Community Special District” like we have with the “Frazier Park public utility district” just focused on the roads. When we get enough support on this petition. We will have to be ready to pay them back over time with property taxes.

Residential property’s within the new CSD would add $50 dollars a year to there property taxes that would go directly to Frazier Parks new CSD for maintenance of there roads.

Commercial property is within the CSD would add a small sales tax to all sales within the new CSD. Maybe 2% that would go directly to Frazier Parks new CSD for maintenance of there roads.

CSD’s have a elected bored of supervisors appointed by residence living with in the CSD.

What Is a Community Service District?

Community Services Districts “CSD’s” are a form of independent local government used to provide services in unincorporated areas of a county. www.californiataxdata.com Background. In unincorporated areas, basic services like water, sewer, security and fire protection are usually provided by the county.

How is Frazier Park going to get a Community Service District

A CSD is initiated by a petition of registered voters or by adoption of a resolution at the county level. A CSD cannot be formed without a 2/3rds majority vote of residents living within the proposed boundaries. Once approved, the CSD will take over functions previously operated by the county.

What are the boundary lines for the community service district

The CSD will start at the Frazier Park sign and End just after Lake of the Woods.

Why?

Fire and medical personnel will have more access in ability to treat problems within the community.

Please send pictures of  the damage to your dirt trail/street! We are currently looking for Street
Representatives for each street in Frazier Park.
