Rescue every cat still trapped in North Las Vegas home

The Issue

More than a dozen cats are still trapped inside an abandoned home in North Las Vegas—and no one has gone back to get them.

Animal Protection Services rescued 17 cats from the property, but officials believe there could be 50 to 100 cats total. That means dozens are still inside, possibly starving, sick, or dying. These animals did not choose to be left behind. They’ve been failed by the humans who abandoned them and by a system that allows rescue efforts to stop halfway through.

Neighbors say they’ve reported concerns for years. Now, even after the sale of the home and a partial rescue, the cats that remain are running out of time. Community volunteers are trying to help, but they can’t enter the home or legally remove the cats themselves. They need the city’s help.

We’re calling on North Las Vegas officials—Animal Protection Services, city council members, and the mayor—to immediately coordinate a full rescue operation. No more waiting. No more red tape. Every cat inside that home deserves a chance to live.

This isn’t just about animal welfare—it’s about doing the right thing. The community is watching, and we are ready to stand behind the people who act with urgency and compassion.

Please sign this petition to demand that North Las Vegas finish the rescue they started. These cats are still alive. We can still save them.
