Hi, my name is Lise Gervais. I’m writing you because I had wrote to David McGuinty about the issues of raccoons, his secretary replied with written to contact you.

So here I go,

The beginning of the summer of 2024 I had found two baby kits they are raccoons. They need it still to be cared for I found myself calling multiple places for help and they all replied with the same answer no place no funds no equipment no people, so I guess that point I had to take care of them now in Ottawa no Ontario no even Canada there’s millions of people that fine baby animals that needs help mostly raccoons and they help us with depression and anxiety with our pain issues. I have multiple people that wrote to me and explain how the raccoon helped them , a lady, the raccoon helped her with the depression of losing her father to death so please change the by-law of people to have these raccoons as pets.

So now, please don’t give me excuses as the raccoons carry rabies or they have disease or other things because all those are cured with vaccines so I would like to start a place where I would be the one breading the raccoons and make sure that they are spayed and neutered and microchip and vaccine before they leave to go to their new home please consider of changing this by law and before you say that are dogs and cats they do the same no they don’t tell you experience the feeling of a raccoon. You cannot judge of this issue.
