It’s been a really positive week for the project.
✅ Constructive engagement has taken place with Yetminster, Ryme Intrinseca & Hamlet Parish Council
✅ Two productive meetings with local residents
✅ 3 members of the community have agreed to joined the group in various capacities, we have a quorum and are moving forward
This is a big step in tackling the long-standing issue of untreated sewage surcharging at Brister End, which continues to discharge into the River Wriggle via CSOs.
WE STILL NEED MORE LOCAL SUPPORT
We’re now looking to grow the Community Group further, particularly residents from the Brister End area.
If you want to be part of a real, practical solution to this problem, now is the time to get involved.
WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT
Over the coming weeks, work will include:
🔹 Leaflet drops across the area
🔹 Meetings with key stakeholders
🔹 Planning presentation for public meeting
🔹 Continued water testing and reporting
🔹 Attending Parish meetings with updates
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Across the UK and around the world, communities are turning to “sponge” solutions, capturing and slowing rainwater before it enters overloaded drains and sewers.
This is exactly what our pilot aims to do.
