Following the submission of the local rainwater harvesting and recycling pilot project, I was pleased to be contacted today by Wessex Water’s Infrastructure and Environmental Engagement Lead.
A Teams meeting is scheduled for later this week to discuss the proposal in more detail, a very positive step forward.
I also attended the Thornhackett Parish Council meeting, where Councillors formally accepted and gave their full support to the petition. The discussion was constructive and encouraging, with a clear commitment to work collaboratively on the project.
Importantly, there is agreement to engage with other Parish Councils across the Wriggle Valley to help reduce CSO discharges and improve our local environment.
It was raised that the sewer is sometimes blocked by wetwipes or other items put into the sewers. Iwas asked to discuss how people could be informed what not to flush. I informed the Clerk that I would circulate information on Facebook and discuss leaflet drop with Wessex Water
This is real progress and very positive, thank you to everyone who continues to support the campaign.
