Pregabalin is the generic version of Lyrica. Here’s a quote from a Lyrica user. It’s from addictioncentre.com

“It was almost like instinct: ‘There’s a bus, jump in front of it’. It was scary but also I could tell it wasn’t coming from me, so I was able to protect myself. But it was terrifying to think I wasn’t in control of my thoughts or behaviour.”

The following is right out of the Sanis pregabalin monograph ( Sanis is the pharmaceutical company that manufactured the pregabalin my daughter took)

3. Suicidal Behaviour and Ideation: Patients, their caregivers, and families should be counselled to monitor for signs of suicidal ideation and behaviours and should be encouraged to report any distressing thoughts or feelings at anytime to their healthcare professional.

Unfortunately, Health Canada doesn’t agree that this warning is important enough to be included in the pregabalin patient information sheets that go home with patients from pharmacies in Canada.  Such an important warning NEEDS to be included! This is exactly why this petition was started.

Thank you supporters. That’s spread awareness and continue to share!
