London's transport system is a lifeline for millions, providing essential connectivity throughout the city. However, the recent reduction in bus services to Abbey Road, Belvedere, has disrupted the lives of many residents, significantly affecting their daily commutes, access to education and healthcare, and overall quality of life.

Prior to 2022, residents in the Abbey Road were served by two routes which provide a reasonable level of service. With the introduction of Elizabeth Line services,  rather than bolster these services, TfL inexplicably chose tovcur them, based on an out of date, pre-pandemic consultation.

Currently, the reduced service has led to overcrowded buses that skip stops, longer wait times, and increased difficulties for residents, particularly those with reduced mobility or without alternative transport options. The people of Belvedere deserve a public transport system that meets their needs and supports the community's growth and development.

Reinstating the two-route service will:
1. Alleviate overcrowding on existing services, enhancing overall passenger safety and comfort.
2. Reduce commute times, resulting in increased productivity and better quality of life.
3. Improve accessibility for vulnerable populations, ensuring equitable transportation for all.
4. Support local businesses by facilitating easier and more reliable access for customers and employees.

Residents of Abbey Road and the surrounding areas demand swift action from Transport for London. We urge Transport for London to take immediate steps to reinstate the two-route service, restoring it to pre-pandemic frequency levels.
