Require MPs to declare whether they will support Illegal Migration in their areas.

Require MPs to declare whether they will support Illegal Migration in their areas.
The Issue
Public discussion of migration policy often lacks transparency regarding how national policy positions translate into local responsibility.
We therefore call on the UK Parliament to hold a debate on whether Members of Parliament should individually declare whether they are willing to support migrant resettlement within their own constituencies.
We believe that requiring MPs to make such declarations would promote openness, accountability, and a more informed public debate.
We further call on Parliament to consider whether these declarations should be recorded and published in the public record.
To support transparency and public understanding, we also ask Parliament to consider:
Whether Members of Parliament should be invited to provide reasons for choosing to support or not support migrant resettlement in their constituencies.
Whether information on existing migrant housing, accommodation, or support programmes within each constituency can be collated and made publicly available;
How participation in any related debate or vote should be recorded to ensure clarity for constituents.
These steps would help the public better understand how national migration policy discussions relate to local impacts and the positions of their elected representatives.
