The Issue

Eric Langton
Today I took my child to a school for strong start, when we got there there wasn’t any other kids playing outside so I figured we’d be okay til the lunch bell rang.
About 20 minutes later As we were playing a group of kids stared coming out which I figured was time for us to head out.
Mind you my child’s 3 years old he sees other kids he wants to play with them, that being said it took a minute for us to leave. I was there from 1145 till 1230 AND SEEN not only 1 but 5 child noon hour supervision not paying attention to the children age grade k-3/4 maybe I’m not familiar with the school district out here and what times each age group goes out.
3 incidents in less than 15 minutes.
I had asked a 3 other children to stop pulling this boy around and to keep there hands to there self as there were ripping on his clothes stretching the neck and sleeves.
I helped a child my self after watching from a distance them be thrown off the playground.
Than another in the distance behind a portable a child holding another kid while another one punches him in the face.
I ran up to one of the noon hour supervision and told them and instead of making sure the child was okay she began to question me and telling me I shouldn’t be here anyways and I’m like well thank god I was and while be making a stop at the office before I leave.
She then began walking to the child simply just asked if he was fine and left him sitting on the ground after I just told her what happened ?
No medical attention for the child ?
No discipline for the either child who hurt other?
Theres a fine line of kids being kids and boys being rough !
As a parent I seeing what I saw today I question as this school being the only one in “catchment area “my child for his future school frightens me and I told there secretary that as the principal was busy I guess at the time ? As I wasn’t offered to speak with them about the situation but they would be adressing it.
Calling the school for an update for sure.
Our children deserve a safe environment where they can learn and play without fear. Increased noon hour supervision or accessible cameras for parents could significantly reduce bullying and ensure our kids' safety. Many daycares already offer this level of transparency and security—our public schools should too.
