Require Immediate Nursing Pinning Ceremony for 2024 ADN Graduates at Bryant & Stratton

Require Immediate Nursing Pinning Ceremony for 2024 ADN Graduates at Bryant & Stratton

The Issue

As a first-generation high school and soon-to-be college graduate, I have worked tirelessly towards achieving my dreams. The pinning ceremony for nursing students symbolizes our transition from student to full-fledged professional, a rite of passage that etches our commitment and dedication in the hearts of our family and community. Currently, Bryant and Stratton Parma Ohio campus plan to hold our pinning ceremony in May 2025, five months after we finish our Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program in December 2024. This delay contradicts the tradition followed by countless nursing schools, where the pinning ceremony is held right after program completion.

The pinning ceremony is not a mere formality; it's an integral part of the healing art that is nursing. It affirms our dedication to providing care, compassion, and courage in the face of adversity. The American Nurses Association recognizes the pinning ceremony as an important rite of passage, symbolizing one's entrance to the nursing profession.

By postponing our ceremony to May 2025, Bryant & Stratton Parma Ohio campus would put a damper on this momentous occasion. Our achievements deserve timely recognization; it's a matter of honor, a key turning point in our lives that the institution needs to support fully.

Hence, we call upon Bryant & Stratton Parma Ohio campus to respect the tradition and timeline that generations of nurses have revered; let us, the 2024 ADN nursing students, have our pinning ceremony right after we finish our program in December 2024.I believe that the request I am making is both reasonable and manageable, and I am confident it will not pose any significant burden to fulfill. Given the dedication of students who have invested their time and resources into the institution, this effort is certainly the least the school can do to support their commitment. Please sign this petition and join me in urging the institution to provide the respect and acknowledgment we deserve.
