The Issue

As a responsible breeder, I am committed to protecting the integrity and credibility of ethical breeding platforms. Good Dog has established its reputation on the pillars of transparency, responsibility, and science-based breeding practices. The platform's current stance, however, excludes merle dogs while allowing crossbreeds, which undermines these very principles.

The issue lies in ensuring that all dogs listed on Good Dog meet rigorous genetic standards. Merle dogs, often misunderstood, can be ethically bred and monitored through diligent DNA and genetic testing practices. Allowing merle dogs on the platform, provided breeders submit comprehensive DNA and genetic testing results, would align with Good Dog's mission to support responsible breeding based on verifiable science and transparency.

The inclusion of merle dogs would not only uphold the standards of responsible breeding but also educate the public and improve the diversity of breeds available on the platform. Ethical breeders like myself are ready and willing to contribute to the increasing credibility and educational outreach of Good Dog.

In contrast, the inclusion of crossbreeds, which often come from less regulated practices, can dilute the platform's mission and impact the reputation it painstakingly built. By excluding crossbreeds, Good Dog can remain a symbol of excellence in ethical breeding.

I urge Good Dog to reconsider their current policy. Let's work towards a more educated, scientifically-backed, and credible breeding environment. Sign this petition to demand Good Dog remove crossbreeds and accept merle dogs with the provision of adequate DNA and genetic testing.
