Require East Hampshire District Council to improve safety at Pulens Lane crossroads!
The Issue
As a resident of Petersfield, I am deeply concerned about the dangers posed by the crossroads on Pulens Lane, which adjoin Heath Road and Durford Road. Despite not being directly impacted in the accidents that have occurred, witnessing another major accident today, requiring multiple ambulances and shutting down the junction, has filled me with distress and frustration. This ongoing issue is affecting our community profoundly, with recent incidents involving vehicles crashing into the hedges of neighbouring homes, and a grim history of the fatal accident in 2020 still fresh in our memories.
The East Hampshire District Council had promised safety improvements to be implemented by early 2025, yet to date, no progress has been made. This delay not only endangers the lives of drivers and pedestrians but also impacts those of us who live nearby, causing emotional turmoil and strain. It is unsettling to think that more people's lives may be endangered unless swift action is undertaken to address these worries.
Concrete steps must be taken immediately to enhance the safety of this hazardous junction. It is vital for the Council to reassess their priorities and take urgent action to protect the community they serve.
The 2025 promised date has passed - how much longer will it take? The frequency and severity of these accidents necessitate immediate intervention. Every day without action is another day where people are at risk.
Please join me in urging the East Hampshire District Council to make these necessary changes now. Your signature is a step towards a safer community for us all. Sign this petition and help prevent further tragedies at the Pulens Lane crossroads!
