We, the patriotic citizens of Canada, recognize our unique position as a diverse democratic nation unlike any other. However, with the rising threat of foreign interference in our political scenario, it becomes imperative for us to safeguard our democracy and retain our distinctive identity.

We assert that anyone aspiring for the highest office in our country must already possess clearance by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) after undergoing National Security clearance investigations.

Studies show a considerable rise in attempts to destabilize democracies around the world (source: Globe and Mail, 2020). Responding to this, Canada must keep her interests paramount and endeavor to prevent foreign interference in politics.

We propose a law enshrining this prerequisite as a comprehensive and necessary step to ensure the integrity of our national security.
