Require Cornell University to Strengthen Protections for Women's Safety
The Issue
I am speaking up because women's safety cannot be treated like an afterthought. When people attach tags like women's safety matters and me too to a school name like Cornell University, that tells me this is not some small private concern people can just scroll past. It tells me there is fear, frustration, and a real need for the university to take responsibility for the environment students are living and learning in every day.
This matters far beyond one story or one person. Every student deserves to walk across campus, go to class, attend events, and live in university housing without feeling like their safety comes second to the school's image. When students do not feel protected or heard, it changes how they move through their entire education. It affects trust, mental health, participation, and whether people feel they can speak up at all.
Cornell University must strengthen protections for women's safety across campus. That means taking reports seriously, improving transparent support systems for students, making safety resources easy to access, and showing the community that preventing harm is a real priority, not just a statement. Students should not have to fight to be believed, supported, or kept safe.
If you believe universities must do more than issue careful words after harm happens, please sign this petition. Add your name if you believe Cornell University must create a campus culture where women's safety is protected, survivors are supported, and students know their voices matter.
