Require Certification on Administering Naloxone for Inpatient Facility Entrants
The Issue
My brother died from a Fentanyl Overdose in 2015 and Naloxone wasn't used/carried with EMS like it is today. He never received Naloxone only because they didn't know that it could have reversed his overdose symptoms at that time. Since then, I have lost countless friends to Fentanyl Overdoses, where people present didn't know how or when to administer Narcan, leading to unnecessary deaths.
Requiring anyone who enters an inpatient drug or alcohol facility to get certified on how to administer Naloxone (Narcan) correctly can save lives. The more people that are certified, the fewer excuses there will be for not using this life-saving treatment during an overdose emergency.
Sign this petition to help ensure no one else loses their life due to a lack of knowledge about administering Narcan! #OverdoseAwareness
