Require Casa De Los Sueños to honour tenant agreements

The Issue

Living at Casa de la Sueños was supposed to be a fresh start for my children and me after enduring years of homelessness. The promise of stability and a future beyond our circumstances was given to us with the assurance that after one year in residence, we would receive vouchers to aid in finding safer, more suitable living arrangements. Unfortunately, this promise has not been fulfilled, leaving us trapped in an environment that poses risks to my children's well-being.

Casa de la Sueños management and caseworkers made a commitment to us—a commitment not only to my family but to every tenant who resides in these apartments. We were promised assistance that would offer us a pathway to move forward. However, here we are, surrounded by unsettling activities such as drug dealings and unsafe environments that no parent wishes their children to be exposed to. We also can't use the resources that they are suppose to provide us on the daily basis (like the washers and dryers).

These vouchers are not just pieces of paper; they are lifelines. They represent hope and the opportunity to build a better life. We need Casa de la Sueños to follow through on their word and provide the support they promised each tenant. The community here at Casa de la Sueños deserves more than empty promises.

The management has the power to make a significant impact on the lives of dozens of families who find themselves in the same predicament. We are not just asking for what was promised, but we are pleading for the bare minimum—a safe place for our children to grow, learn, and thrive away from the negative influences around us.

We call on Casa de la Sueños to take immediate action to grant the promised vouchers to every eligible tenant. Honour your commitment and enable us the chance to seek a better and safer environment for our families.

Sign this petition if you stand with us, demanding accountability and justice for every family at Casa de la Sueños.
