Ever since I could remember, creativity and the pursuit of knowledge have fueled me. Now, AI dominates nearly every factor of our online world. Social media, art, and even our search engines. Currently, nearly every search engine uses AI to summarize your results, often using incorrect information. Also, as we know, negatively affects the earth itself, speeding up global warming and climate change. My proposal is that search engines must have a setting to disable the AI overviews. Since many of us are against AI, generative or not, this will help us to protect the earth from climate change. In addition, this will allow school districts to disable it for their devices so that students won’t be overreliant on AI. We are currently facing a dip in overall intelligence and research skills for our current generation. So please, sign this petition to make a change, every signature counts!
