Heyy all, I'm reaching out from the physics department.

Like many of you, I believe that graduation is a significant milestone in our academic journey. It represents the culmination of years of dedicated study, perseverance, and hard work. Receiving our certificates during the ceremony should be a memorable moment. Yet, many of us have been met with disappointment when handed our certificates while standing in the same spot, deprived of the chance to walk onto the stage, shake hands with distinguished faculty, and experience the applause and recognition we deserve.

This petition is personal to me because this is not just about tradition; it’s about giving each one of us a moment to be celebrated. While we realize the number of graduates can be intimidating, we know there are better ways. Other institutions with even larger graduating classes succeed in ensuring that each graduate walks the stage. For example, some institutions segment their ceremonies into batches, allowing for a smooth and efficient process, while still empowering every student to relish their moment of honor.

If time is indeed the concern, organizing the ceremony in staggered sessions, or implementing stricter time management protocols can present effective solutions. This change can significantly enhance our graduation day experience, making it more inclusive and rewarding.

It’s time that our universities make this small yet impactful shift. Let’s advocate for a ceremony where every graduate gets to experience the joy and pride of walking onto the stage. By signing this petition, you can help us send a message to our university administrators about the importance of recognizing student achievements in a manner befitting our hard work and dedication.

And one more request—our parents deserve to be part of this moment too. We understand that there may not be enough space inside the auditorium or campus to accommodate everyone. But couldn't arrangements be made to screen the ceremony in the college ground or another designated area?

After all, this achievement is not ours alone. Our parents have supported us through these three years, and seeing their child graduate is a proud and emotional moment for them too. 🎓
