Request KSHSAA add Moratorium for Easter, Sundays, and Wednesday Evenings

Request KSHSAA add Moratorium for Easter, Sundays, and Wednesday Evenings
The Issue
KSHSAA has many Moratoriums in place, for Christmas, 4th of July, Fall Sports, but not for the holiest week of the year for Christians, Easter Week and Sundays (they do not "officially" schedule events, but unofficially schools are not respecting Sundays). In addition, the practice has always been to avoid Wednesday nights as they have traditionally been reserved for the various churches of all denominations for youth nights. Over the years athletics continue to creep in on these days not giving the students the freedom to choose, rather they are punished for not attending various practices, "optional" practices, or sporting events. Often times putting the students in a bad situation.
We are simply asking KSHSAA to add in three Moratoriums for these days. They have been adopted from Moratoriums which are already in practice through KSHSAA. We are scheduled to go before the board April 23rd and would like to present them with as many signatures from people within the state of Kansas as possible to show how important this is to all of us.
In short, at a time when our teenagers are full of broken relationships, empty promises, and pressure to become something they are not, and parents who are living vicariously through their teens; many of our teenagers are facing social and emotional difficulties, and all of it is elevated through social media. Our teens need the freedom to make responsible choices where they are not pressured by Coaches, Administrators or even their own parents. In addition, all athletes need time to recover and heal their young bodies.
Furthermore, they also need the freedom to enrich their Spiritual lives if they so choose, with the current schedule and without these Moratoriums they do not have that freedom. Coaches, Administrators, club sports, and even KSHSAA scheduling, add more unnecessary pressures upon them. Yes, the duty will now be to the churches of all Faith’s to inspire them to attend their events while working with all the mentioned parties for total formation of the students in the great State of Kansas.
1) Easter Moratorium
