This petition is deeply personal to me and undoubtedly to many others in Carmel, NY. Our concerns stem from discovering that Jim Wise, a member of our school board, was actively part of a pro Palestine protest where he was caught yelling 'baby killers'. Wise is also seen on video yelling “US is a terrorist state and resistance is justified.”It is disheartening and shocking to learn that a person tasked with the important role of overseeing the development of our children holds such harmful and violent views. A school board member should embody the values of respect, peace, and understanding. 

Carmel, NY is a harmonious community, and we respect freedom of speech and everyone's right to personal opinions and stances on global issues. However, when such expressions cross the lines of civility and breed hatred, it becomes a cause for concern, especially when this person has an influential role in educating our future generation.

His actions are not indicative of the peace, respect, and tolerance we hope to instill in our children. It not only raises questions over his ability to perform his role impartially, but also affects the trust parents place in the school board in making the best decisions for our children.

We, therefore, appeal to all concerned residents of Carmel, NY to support this call for Jim Wise to step down from his position on the school board. By doing so, we uphold the standards of respect and tolerance we expect from those assigned the essential task of shaping our children's futures. Your signature can usher in this crucial change.
