Updates: MP Ms Joan Pereira's reply to our letter and petition

Hello everyone!

Thank you very much for your overwhelming support with this petition. We are very grateful for all the signatures and sharing of the petition by parents, residents of the area and concerned members of the general public who want safer roads for everyone. 

By way of a quick update, we sent the letter and petition link to LTA and the Tanjong Pagar GRC MP Ms Indranee Rajah on Friday. We received a brief reply from MP Ms Joan Pereira of the Tanjong Pagar GRC yesterday stating that she oversees the River Valley residential area and that she has noted the email. She offered the general response that she had previously given feedback to LTA to implement safety measures and that she will continuously do so. She added that LTA will look into all the safety measures and "close the loop" with them.

We have replied thanking Ms Pereira for her email and feedback to LTA, noting that we hope our petition will help her make the case to LTA for the urgent need for safety measures in the specific area in question. We also asked if there is anything more we might helpfully do for the time being as we await LTA's consideration. We have also requested to be kept in the loop about measures being considered or taken. We now look forward to LTA's reply/Ms Pereira's update, and swift action to address our concerns.
