Request for renovation and updates to units in the Boulders at Puget Sound
The Issue
Dear Boulders and Two Coast Living,
As a resident of the Boulders and Puget Sound, I am compelled to bring to your attention several urgent issues affecting the safety, health, and comfort of myself and fellow tenants. We kindly request your prompt attention and action to address these concerns.
1. Soundproofing of Flooring
The hardwood flooring installed in the building lacks soundproof barriers. This results in significant noise transfer from the upstairs neighbors, causing disruptions and affecting our quality of life. We respectfully request the installation of proper soundproofing materials underneath the flooring.
2. Moisture and Mold Issues
There is poor moisture management within the buildings, leading to mold growth and vines appearing in the walls. These conditions pose health risks and require immediate investigation and remediation to ensure a safe living environment.
3. Structural Concerns
The floors and ceilings are uneven, creating a safety hazard and discomfort. We urge thorough inspections and necessary repairs to ensure structural integrity.
4. Safety and Security
Despite recent efforts to hire security staff, residents are still experiencing break-ins in their vehicles. We desire cameras to be installed and increased security officer patrols, given the increase in income from additional parking fees that have been added recently.
5. Community Cleanliness
While there has been an increase in the number of installed dog poop bag trash receptacles, there are still people who choose not to pick up their dog poop. We propose hiring dog poop cleaners, which could be added as an amenity of the complex. Responsible dog owners will still pick up their poop, but if you forget a bag or the provided bags are empty, the building will provide the service. Fines for those who do not pick up carelessly should still be enforced.
6. Lack of usable amenities
While we recognize the increased efforts to open the pools this past 2025 season, there were extended periods when they were closed. We recommend hiring pool cleaners during night hours, when there is less traffic. Further, we recommended fixing the fob door keys so the gym, bathroom, and indoor pool can be accessed 24 hours.
With the many units in our building, residents often report that the trash pickup is missed. We recommend hiring more trash pickup drivers or increasing the service times. This helps increase community jobs and gets the trash away from our doors! A second dumpster on the 2220 or 2602 side would also eliminate overcrowding in the one by the office. On the 2220 side, there is a whole building next to the pool that goes unused. This building could be renovated to have a second gym, pet cleaning stations, pool tables, or ping pong (with fob key access).
We appreciate your attention to these urgent matters and hope for swift action to improve the living conditions within our building. Our health, safety, and well-being depend on it.
