This issue renders the game less enjoyable, creating inequity for a significant number of South American players struggling under the same circumstances. The lack of local servers for Counter-Strike results in poor connection and inevitably, poorer performance.

According to a 2017 report from the Entertainment Software Association, 65% of the US population are gamers. While there isn't an exact number for South American gamers, the eSports economy in Latin America is expected to reach USD $45 million this year, reflecting its substantial growth (Newzoo, 2020). This showcases the significant volume of gamers in this region who would benefit from local servers.

It's crucial to note that at its core, FaceIt and Counter-Strike are about enjoying the competition and the game. Faced with a high ping disadvantage, South American players are left at an unfair hindrance and are unable to fully enjoy the competition due to factors outside their skills or control.
