Your support, your messages, and your willingness to stand up for transparency and constitutional rights truly mean more than I can put into words. Because of your support, this effort is now moving forward to the next stage and beyond. We have sent a public notice about this petition already to the Department of Justice. We will also now be formally contacting the Office of the Mississippi State Auditor and the Office of the Mississippi Attorney General to request review and oversight regarding the concerns as outlined in this petition. In addition, a public notice has been sent to the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division so that they are aware of the public concerns being raised and the request for lawful oversight at the state level. This petition has always been about transparency, due process, and equal protection under the law. No matter what happens next, this petition has already done something important: It created a public record that ordinary citizens can come together, use their voices, and peacefully petition their government when they believe something is wrong.
