The Issue
***PETITION NOTICE***
This notice is provided to document public concern regarding multiple First, Fourth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendment implications and law-enforcement conduct in Vicksburg, Mississippi. ***THE ISSUE*** This petition respectfully asks the Mississippi Attorney General and/or State Auditor to review publicly documented constitutional concerns involving law enforcement practices in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Over the past year, multiple incidents occurring in public spaces have raised serious questions regarding the protection of First Amendment rights, as well as related Fourth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendment safeguards. These events have been documented openly through public records, publicly available video, and formal constitutional notices preserved for the public record. This petition does not seek punishment, prosecution, or predetermined outcomes. It does not allege guilt or intent by any individual. Instead, it reflects a growing public concern that warrants state-level review to ensure that constitutional protections are being upheld consistently and transparently. ***PUBLIC FACING CONSTITUTIONAL NOTICE*** The United States Constitution protects the rights of the people to speak freely, engage in expressive conduct, and observe public officials performing public duties. When patterns of concern arise, the appropriate response in a constitutional system is review, oversight, and accountability through lawful process.
What We Are Asking: We respectfully petition the Mississippi Attorney General and/or State Auditor to:
1.) Review the publicly documented record concerning these matters
2.) Determine whether further inquiry or oversight is appropriate under state authority 3.) Take any action deemed proper at the Attorney General’s and/or State Auditor’s discretion
