Lynn Fitch is an American lawyer and politician, born in 1961, who currently serves as the 40th Attorney General of Mississippi. She is notable for being the first woman and the first Republican to hold the office since 1878. Before her current role, Fitch served as the 54th State Treasurer of Mississippi from 2012 to 2020. A member of the Republican Party, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi. Her career has included various significant positions such as Special Assistant Attorney General, Bond Lawyer, Deputy Executive Director at the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, Executive Director of the Mississippi State Personnel Board, and Counsel for the Mississippi State House of Representatives' Ways and Means and Local and Private Legislation Committees.
