The decision to have Yasuke as one of the two main characters in a video game set in feudal Japan distorts history and is disrespectful to the Japanese people. Every other Assassins Creed video game has had main characters native to their game's respective setting, and Assassins Creed Shadows should not be any different.

Assassins Creed Shadows is set to feature Yasuke, the first African samurai, as one of its main characters alongside the shinobi Naoe. While Yasuke's story is indeed fascinating, it would be more authentic and respectful to represent this historical period with a samurai of Japanese descent. This change would not only honor the rich cultural heritage of Japan, but also align better with historical accuracy.
