Capital Bikeshare's older model ebike models are hard to miss. They are so ugly - they are all black, and tend to look sad - like an older model car that's been parked for too long and is dirty.

Parked nearby are the brand new gray E-bikes, which are fantastic. And of course there are always the classic red bikes.

Red is great, and the new gray ones are awesome but the older model black e-bikes should be retired. Capital Bikeshare needs to step up its game and retire that fleet of junk.

The older beat-up black ones aren't just ugly. They often break down and are frequently the only bike left at the rack because everyone knows this. The little bike motors aren't very strong and wheeze with effort. When you find only an old black bike available it's common to get a sinking feeling in your heart.

Capital Bikeshare must stop this madness; put the older black bikes out of their misery and move on.
