Replace the Longs Hill Bus 10 Stop (Stop 2745)

Replace the Longs Hill Bus 10 Stop (Stop 2745)
The Issue
After over a decade Metrobus has removed our stop at the top of Long’s Hill (stop #2745) with less than 2 weeks notice. This will have immediate and long-term effects on the riders who access the bus using that stop.
While no reason has been provided publicly or through the app bulletins, Metrobus staff have cited various “safety” issues when contacted by phone.
We, the riders of route #10 in the area of the top of Long’s Hill are petitioning for an immediate halt to this plan and for open consultation on ways to ensure this stop remains near to its current location.
A large number of users, many of them without alternative means to get around, rely on this route and this stop in particular to shop and access vital services.
While Metrobus provided their own figures showing only an average of 8.2 bus boarders a day at stop #2745, we counted 68 separate boardings/disembarkments on Thursday, June 20
(not including 4 or 5 missed runs).
We would like to know how the Metrobus numbers are arrived at—if, for example, they don’t include users of free passes.
A paper notice on the stop itself heralding its removal appeared around June 11, only 13
days before the date it was to be permanently closed. (That notice subsequently was
removed and reappeared without contact info, then turned around several times).
Without notification through the Metrobus mobile app, nobody we spoke to at the stop in the following days had been aware until they arrived at it that it would be removed, and none had a clear idea of where they would have to go instead.
