As an avid supporter of England's football team, I have always taken pride in our national symbols. However, recently I've noticed a shift that concerns me. The flag on the back of our beloved team's shirt has been changed from the St George Cross, a symbol deeply ingrained in English history and culture, to another flag that does not represent us as accurately.

The St George Cross is more than just a flag; it represents our nation's rich history and unity. It is a symbol that resonates with many English citizens who value their heritage and identity. The current flag on the shirt seems to be used as a tool for political agendas rather than representing our nation.

It is important to note that sport should remain neutral and free from political influence. According to FIFA regulations (Article 4), "Equipment must not have any political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images". This rule ensures that football remains a unifying force rather than becoming divisive.

We believe changing back to the St George Cross will restore this neutrality while also honoring our country's heritage. We urge those responsible for these decisions - The Football Association (FA) - to consider this request seriously.
