Herzing University requires nursing students to use ProctorU (Meazure Learning) for all HESI exams. This platform has repeatedly failed students, not occasionally, but systemically and on record.

Here is what has actually happened to Herzing students:

- A student's NSG 521 Final Exam was auto-cancelled after 4 consecutive ProctorU sessions failed over 2+ hours. ProctorU then made false statements to administration about what occurred, contradicted by timestamped chat logs.

- 600+ Herzing students signed a petition after ProctorU technology failures prevented them from taking HESI exams. ProctorU told students the school must approve rescheduling. The school said it had no authority to approve. Students had no path forward.

- TM had five appeals denied and was unable to pass her course. 

- MIwas switched between 4 different proctors during her exam. No proctor was present at the end, she called out for 5 minutes with no response.

- AC's screen froze at the same question on the Fundamentals HESI every time. The Apple Store confirmed her computer had no issues. ProctorU's platform had a bug on that specific exam.

- A student with documented ADA accommodations had ProctorU refuse to honor approvals already on file, repeatedly, forcing Student Affairs to personally intervene before multiple exams. ProctorU still failed.

This is not an inconvenience. A failed HESI can trigger academic standing reviews, require retaking an entire course at additional tuition cost, and delay or end a nursing career.

ProctorU has an F rating from the Better Business Bureau.

It has 855+ Trustpilot reviews averaging 1.1 out of 5 stars.

The California State Bar sued ProctorU for fraud in 2025 after its platform collapsed for 5,600 bar exam takers.

Three federal class action lawsuits have been filed against the company. I

t suffered a data breach exposing 444,267 student records.

It has been condemned by the EFF, EPIC, the Center for Democracy & Technology, and 19 other civil liberties organizations.

We are asking Herzing University to replace ProctorU immediately with a platform that actually works, or to implement faculty-supervised exam alternatives. Students are paying tuition for a nursing education. They deserve a fair shot at passing their exams.
