Replace Our Property Management Company for Better Operation of HOA

The Issue

Speaking from personal pain-points, I, like many other property owners at the Mezzo in Seattle, are facing severe hardships due to the inefficiencies of our current Property Management (PM) company. My own experiences have left me dissatisfied and deeply frustrated by the PM's incompetence and disarray. Two major problems that strike me are the continuous acceleration of our HOA dues and our uncontrolled, misguided spending.

Being residents of the Mezzo, all of us have noticed the unnerving rise in our dues with not much to show for it. Seemingly, no concrete measures are taken by our PM to monitor or justify the funds we pool in.

Furthermore, I observe that our spending under this PM's guidance is spiraling out of control. As the advisor on vital financial matters, their lack of wisdom is causing our community to bleed in unnecessary expenditure, hampering the community development we all aspire to.

This collective disappointment drives the need for this petition seeking the replacement of our current PM company. By instituting a competent and reliable PM, we can redirect our dues to meaningful contributions that aid in creating a thriving neighborhood. Here in Seattle, the average HOA fee is around $395, but our HOA dues are significantly more expensive than the average. 

Yet, it seems that there is little to show for the HOA fees we all pay monthly.  Whether it be landscaping, cleaning, maintenance, or repairs that need to be addressed on the property, none of these things seem to be adequately tended to in a timely manner or with much professionalism.  This sum, used wisely, could bring about impactful changes and enhancements in our community. 

I encourage all of you to look at the budget vs. actuals in the owner portal (CWD Group operative).  You can make your own determination about how our money is actually being spent and whether or not it is being spent wisely, but I have determined that it is not and CWD Group is the major winner in all of this for how much we allocate to them for operational management purposes. 

I should note that I am not a Board member, and it will require a vote from your Board members in order to initiate a change.  The more signatures there are, the more persuasive it will be for the current Board Members to agree to make the change.  

It’s time we stop our dependence on a PM which contributes to our setbacks more than growth. We request all owners to lend their name to this cause, putting an end to our escalating dues, and initiating the process to recruit a PM who can genuinely serve our community’s interests with proper guidance and accountability.  Please sign this petition for the betterment of our HOA, the Mezzo, and all who call it home.
