Harry Stone Park is a cornerstone of our community and a central gathering place for families, friends, and neighbors. Located next to the community recreation center and pool, it hosts many neighborhood events, activities, and family gatherings. The playground is one of its most important features, providing children with a space to play, learn, and stay active.

However, the current playground is severely outdated and in very poor condition. The equipment is worn and aging, and some areas may no longer meet modern safety or accessibility standards. Surfaces are uneven, structures are deteriorating, and the space no longer serves the needs of a growing, active community.

This park is one of the main public recreation spaces available to local families, making its condition especially important. According to the National Recreation and Park Association, well-maintained parks support physical health, reduce stress, and strengthen communities. Our neighborhood deserves a safe and welcoming space that reflects those values.

We are calling for the full replacement of the Harry Stone Park playground with a modern, safe, and inclusive design. This should include accessible equipment for children of all abilities, updated safety surfaces, and environmentally conscious materials.

We ask the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department and local officials to prioritize this renovation and invest in a park that truly serves the entire community.
