Replace extravagant eyesores the "Welcome to Little India” signs in Harris Park.

Replace extravagant eyesores the "Welcome to Little India” signs in Harris Park.
The issue
Replace extravagant eyesores the "Welcome to Little India” signs in Harris Park.
The current signs are detrimental to the look of the area. The current signs are unsightly, unnecessarily large, gaudy, and detract from the streetscape. In short, they are eyesores with no redeeming features.
We petition Parramatta City Council to: -
1. Review the size and position of these signs as they are:
a) overly large;
b) unsightly &
c) too many of them.
2. Reduce their number and size (1 is enough, worst 2) and location. Remove two signs permanently that are outside precinct bounds, on the corners of Harris & Marion, and Parkes & Wigram. These seem to be creeping insidious expansion of "Little India" into residential areas that may mislead potential commercial interest to attempt similar expansion.
3. Community consultation for a more pleasing, and less harsh impact on the streetscape.
We believe there has been no community consultation regarding these signs and urge council to action the above steps. Thanks.
