The Bristol, CT winter parking ban was enacted  in 1960 and hasn't been thoroughly updated since 1978. Fast forward to today, weather forecasting technology has experienced phenomenal advancements in accuracy and capability. The forecasters are now equipped with the knowledge and tools to accurately predict weather patterns, making surprise storms a rarity.

This outdated ordinance disproportionately affects vulnerable groups in our community, particularly the elderly and younger drivers who often find themselves unable to buy a home with adequate parking or afford to lease off-street parking. These residents, who rely on street parking, face considerable fines and logistical headaches due to a law that no longer reflects our reality.
