Repeal HB 1084 and SB 226

Repeal HB 1084 and SB 226
The Issue
Your signatures have helped to demonstrate the power of the people, and we have all worked together to get the AP African American Studies course code approved. Thank you.
We have updated this petition to continue to focus on the root cause of the issue: anti-DEI, anti-historical truth, anti-civil rights legislation (e.g. HB 1084 and SB 226, etc.)
Understanding the stories, contributions, and celebrating the diversity of the people are all important to our commUNITY.
We need elected officials to courageously engage with and fight for school board members, students, families, teachers, educational support professionals, and administration staff to support the educational needs of all students.
These signatures depict the voices of the people who already signed the demand for AP African American studies code in Georgia. Your voices matter and the AP AA studies code was approved on 8/7/2024.
All Power to the People!
This updated petition continues our demand for the reversal of HB 1084 and SB 226.
Other suggested actions:
- Join the multicultural people-powered movement: Gwinnett Progressives
- Contact state legislators and Governor Kemp to request reversal of HB1084 & SB 226 and ask them to support the multicultural and literacy needs of all students.
- Regularly check your voter registration status
- Help get out the vote!
- Vote for progress! We can't go back! Vote for people who support culturally specific literacy, historical truths, culturally responsive education, critical thinking, DEI, and civil rights.
