The York Catholic District School Board has banned all school-affiliated U.S. trips as of the 2025-2026 school year. YCDSB is the ONLY major school board in the province to completely ban academic trips, citing politics as the issue. Academics should NOT be impacted by politics. 

Thousands of YCDSB students were stripped of the opportunity to travel on school-affiliated trips to the U.S. The cancellation of important trips, including DECA’s ICDC, the Civics and Careers summer trip, music competitions, drama trips, and many more, has ripped away students’ education. This ban impacts thousands of students across 17 secondary schools in the board, impeding their learning, networking, and growth.

Take action today. We cannot let policies restrain students’ education.
